2016 Ford Falcon XR6 Sprint and XR8 Sprint gallery
The Ford Falcon XR6 and XR8 Sprint models have been launched in Australia and while we settle down to drive the last Ford Falcon ever today, we wanted to share this image gallery with you.
The range starts at $54,990 plus on-road costs for the Falcon XR6 Sprint, which features a 4.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine that produces 325kW of power and 576Nm of torque — up 55kW and 43Nm. It also includes a 10 second overboost feature that cranks power and torque output to 370kW and 650Nm.
Torque is sent through a six-speed automatic only for the Falcon XR6 Sprint and only 550 will be built, with 50 of those heading to New Zealand.
The pinnacle of the range is the Falcon XR8 Sprint, which is priced from $59,990 for the six-speed manual. It's powered by a supercharged 5.0-litre V8 engine that produces 345kW of power and 570Nm of torque. This also jumps to a staggering 400kW of power and 650Nm of torque thanks to an overboost feature.
Buyers can also option a six-speed automatic gearbox with a starting price of $62,190. Build will be limited to 850 units, with 100 of those heading to New Zealand.
