It’d be good if you included either or both the Citroen C4 Picasso and Peugeot 308 SW in your comparison as I believe that represent very refreshing alternatives to this collection of ho-hum moving lunchboxes that you have here.

    • Benjie

      Peugeot 308? Wtf?

May as well include the Ford Falcon wagon while you’re at it!

      • Myke

Benjie, the 308 SW is available with 7-seats

        • Shak

Yeah but its not a people Mover, its a wagon.

    Hi Family Guy,

As stated the cars in this review were selected for representing the top selling vehicles in their category.

More specifically (at the time the vehicles were booked) they placed 1,2,3,4 and 6 out of the top six selling people movers according to VFACTS.

Ideally we would have loved to do every car in the category in such a comparison but se la vie.

If however you’d like to have a read about the Peugeot 308 SW we can help you out. Have a look at our first steer as follows: http://www.caradvice.com.au/15658/2008-peugeot-308-touring-first-steer/

    Hope this helps, Matt.

so what vehicle came in at #5?
Can you include service intervals in the review pls.

  • Casey

More of this please guys and girls it is really useful information to us family buyers and often hard to find elsewhere. I look forward to the read. Thanks.

    • Trevor

      +1

For Family buyers the Falcon wagon should be in there.

    • Alex

Why? The Falcon wagon is a horrible car that’s beaten by most people movers and most SUVs. I see no need for it. Not until they update it anyway. It’s been what, ten years?

    Need Mazda MPV!

  • chris

hasn’t the mazda MPV been discontinued ages ago in Australia? We don’t have the new generation Mazda MPV / Mazda 8.

  • Steve-Poyza

That Tarago in the picture isn’t the latest model. There has been a facelift since then (I think it is simply cosmetic though, not sure though).

Anyways, just thought I’d let you know.

The comparison info you put together in 2009 was great, but with new laws on child restraints, one of the big things that reviews of 7 seaters never seem to include is info on child restraint points. eg a friend just bought an odyssey but if you need child restraints in both the second and third row of seats, you end up with straps passing across the top of the third row making it awkward to climb in and also across the cargo area, limiting space (eg for prams!) – not ideal!
it would be great if your next review took into account how easily child restraints are accommodated (and top marks please to any vehicles putting the restraint points on the back of the seat, which takes up the least room of all). also take into account the size of the cargo area when all rows of seats are in use having particular regard to ease to accommodate a variety of prams! (eg ford territory can probably take a small stroller in the back when all seats are up, but not your typical newborn style stroller).

Anybody know of a people mover for 9 that holds a pram and some groceries when the last seats aren’t folded up?

    • Nick

      Holden Suburban.

    • ben

Then you should consider VW Caravelle … or may be Hyundai iMax modified with front seats from iLoad?

  • Eric

From that list the Honda should be a clear winner in the drive and fit’n'finnish.

I also think its the best looking people mover.

This will be an interesting test. Of course the winner will depend on what you want. If it is space, comfort and the economy and grunt of a turbodiesel engine, then the Hyundai will be superior to the Honda.

I am biased as an owner of a turbodiesel iMax it is a great vehicle to live with and incredible how much space inside for 8 people plus loads of luggage and gear.
