Aston Martin DB11 images leak online

The world reveal of the long-awaited Aston Martin DB11 is happening this week at the Geneva motor show, but it wouldn’t be the same without the almost de rigeur external leak of images ahead of time.

These images, which we believe ran for the first time on CarScoops, have all the hallmarks of official brochure shots. It’s the latest in a growing line of leaks that we’ve published over the past few weeks.

The DB11 is the successor to the DB9. As we have reported before, it is expected to use the company’s new in-house designed 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine.

It is also expected to utilise Aston Martin’s technical partnership with 5 per cent stakeholder Daimler.

The DB11 is a vital car for the British icon, which recently announced a significant investment in its UK production presence.

It will invest in a new production site in Wales to build its new crossover vehicle, and will expand its Gaydon, Warwickshire site to accommodate its next-generation sports cars, plus the RapidE electric car.

The DB11 will enter production at the Gaydon site around September this year, as the first car launched under Aston Martin’s Second Century plan.

Over the course of the next five years, the company will both replace and expand its entire sports car portfolio. Production will expand to a planned maximum volume of 7000 sports cars a year by 2020.

“Not only is [DB11] a sign of our intention to continue the long line of iconic sports cars that bear the ‘DB’ moniker – the very bloodline of our brand – but it also shows the world our ambitious plan in action,” Aston Martin CEO Andy Palmer said previously.

“The coming years will see Aston Martin transform not only its entire range of models but also its scale and global presence, and the new DB11 will be central to that success.”
