2017 Ford Kuga facelift revealed for Geneva motor show
The newly updated 2017 Ford Kuga has been unveiled this week ahead of a European market launch set for the coming months.
The refreshed 2017 Kuga first appeared in January as the US-market Escape, and although Australian timing is still to be confirmed, we can likely expect a debut to occur later this year or early next.
Styling updates for the Kuga are largely identical to those given to the Escape, including a broad new Edge-inspired grille for a more muscular look, flanked by lightly reshaped headlights with integrated daytime lamps.
The lower front bumper has also been redesigned, with the air damn now wider than before but also shorter top-to-bottom. Large fog lights sit outboard of the new grille.
Styling through the profile is largely the same as before, but a look at the back reveals a new look to the tailgate half of the rear lights, which also get revised internals and new LEDs. The tailgate grab panel has also been sharpened, mirroring the front end’s new emboldened look.
The standout change to the interior is a new three-spoke steering wheel, shared with Ford’s latest models, along with an upgrade to the new Ford Sync 3 infotainment system.
A new 88kW 1.5-litre TDCi turbo diesel engine will feature with the 2017 Kuga range in Europe, but Australian specifications are still to be confirmed.
