I think to sum up the range rover sport looks on road in a different class to
the x5 merc or audi the interior is also the best by far

Its good that they now come more fully optioned…having waited 6 months for my RRS to be built twice, now being able to buy one form their delivey list is better…

And i found the RRS to be slightly smaller than the X5 dispite being onth same platform as the disco, it is like the reverse tardus effect, smaller on the inside…

I still struggle to understand the point of RRS, if you want sporty handling, why not get a X5? Can even get 7 seat options with X5 with better handling. I personally love the full fat Range Rover, but struggle to get the point of a smaller and less luxurious Range Rover with some sporting pretension.

I have to agree with Alex. There is nothing better than the Rangie. I’ve had 3 Discoveries, and they’ve been absolutely brilliant! Now I’m stepping-up even further for the ultimate on-road/off-road vehicle and buying an MY10 Rangie Sport. Toyotas just aren’t in the race.
What’s a mere $15k when you’re looking at this level of quality?

Is the V6 Diesel the same as the one in the Jaguar Diesel S?

figjam, they’re in completely different leagues. This is an X5/ML/Q7 competitor and as of now, it’s better than all of them. The 200 Series is only good at one thing and that’s going off road and even then some people are having problems with them. The Range Rover Sport is excellent quality, excellent on road and surprisingly excellent off road (though I’m sure the 200 Series would win in a contest off road).
Plus, the RRS has world class engines that Toyota can’t even begin to approach and something called driving dynamics that Land Cruisers just don’t have.
It may seem expensive, but when you add up how much better the Range Rover is over an LC, the LC just doesn’t seem to be very good value anymore.
If anything was a competitor in the Land Rover range for the 200 Series, it would either be the Discovery 4 (though I’d have said that was more a Prado competitor) or the Vogue and the new Vogue will probably cost more than two 200 Series’ would so that cancels that out. Incidentally, the extra cost of a Range Rover Vogue over a 200 Series would be worth every penny and much, much more mainly due the fact that the Vogue is just as good if not better off road but also manages to be a major player in the S Class and 7 Series markets. It really is an amazing car and Toyota have yet to approach them. Though I wish they would; current Land Cruisers are pitiful.

If you’ve saved up for a long time and are paying with cash, then yes, another 15 grand up front is a big jump. The reason the BMW & Merc are cheaper is because they come from the USA , and hence, no import duty.

Yeah your right. And also because RR’s have much more street cred and can actually handle something more than a dirt road or a bit of mud(jeremy clarkson proved that)

Yeah but Mark, it deserves to be the most expensive. I’ve read about five reviews now saying that with the new diesel in the Sport and the new interior, it’s class leader by far.
Besides, Land Rovers come very well equipped and it just means that there’ll be a few less on the road which is probably a good thing if you’ve bought one.
Also, the RRS is bigger than the X5 at least and much, much better than the ML. Do people buying at this end of the market really care about a $15,000 saving? I know I don’t and it’s not just because I’m a Land Rover fan.

What are Land Rover nuts – you can buy a BMW X5 or Mercedes ML for at least 15 grand less. $100k is one of the most expensive mid-size luxury 4WDs on the market.

Gee, Im really starting to confuse the Range Rover Vogue and the Range Rover Sport, they look a bit too similar to me now.
