2016 Peugeot RCZ Australian price slashed to $49,990 drive-away in final runout

If you’ve ever lusted after the distinctive Peugeot RCZ coupe and its ‘double bubble’ roof, now is the time to strike.

Peugeot Australia announced today that it will sell the final 40 units of its flagship — which is being phased out and will not be replaced — for $49,990 drive-away. Given the RRP stands at up to $58,990 before on-roads, this equates to a saving of about $14,000.

That said, this huge discount applies to existing stocks of the Peugeot RCZ already on the ground. Remaining 199kW RCZ R stocks are not included. Clearly, Peugeot Australia's distributor Sime Darby has to clear the decks.

This special runout deal applies to the turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol version in either 147kW/275Nm six-speed manual or 115kW/240Nm six-speed automatic guises, as well as the 120kW/340Nm 2.0-litre turbo-diesel/six-speed manual version.

All RCZs feature satellite-navigation, dual-zone climate control, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, leather-clad heated and electrically adjustable seats, 19-inch alloys, electrically operated active rear spoiler, automatic headlights and wipers, and LED daytime running lights.

Each vehicle also carries a five-year/75,000km capped price servicing plan, five years of roadside assist and a three-year/100,000km warranty.

As we know, Peugeot has opted not to develop a next-generation RCZ, and will instead focus its resources on sporty derivatives of it mainstream cars. Niche vehicles are hard to justify.
