Looks are not always everything and in the case of the Superb I would say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Based on many reviews of this car, the Superb could be one of the best bang for the dollar cars in its category. In diesel configuration this car is hard to beat on the size of car- fuel consumption index scale. Personally I prefer the sedan with the semi-hatch/boot option- very cool Skoda, keep em commin'.

No this is just odd. The front doesn't match the rear. Odd car but the Skoda freaks rave on yet again. Self denial.

And btw, this was all said before but negative comments against Skoda have a habbit of dissapearing???

Ahhh dont do that to me, I can just picture it now, and I want one. Maybe one day if Holden exports the Statesman to the US as a Buick, they may bring out a huge wagon version. Flip down dicky seat in the back, wind down window in the tailgate, chrome, leather, wood trim, big V8 and rear wheel drive. Heaven!

thanks Filippo. Did not know that.
Understand that people in Australia are used to bigger engines, while people in Europe pay taxes and luxury taxes, when buying large engines.

Do not know why the system put my comment under yours, I was surprised to not find my message at the end of the string.

Ian I think you'll find that the 80kw Mondeo engine you mention is not available in Australia. The engines we get are the 2.3l petrol which produces 118kw/208nm while the diesel (expected to be available in estate models by the end of the year) produces 103kw/320nm.

Well it looks better than the awkwark sedan/hatch. However, I was hoping that it would be just slightly larger and house a third row of seats. Australia has very few stylish 7 seaters (ie: not SUVs and not buses).

This definetly has a better rear end compared to the hatchoon. And if they can make it drive like the hatchoon then it’ll be a beauty. Still purely on aesthetics i dont think the Commodore wagon can be beaten as it introduced the sportwagon to the world and as such is the interim kng until Audi has another go at sexing up the A4 or even the new A6.
