Its a single tubine , running a low boost, so therefore being able to still run a high compression ratio . This i think would avoid or really minimise lag , as the reviews are now saying from the US

The turbo six has loads more power than the ss. Remember power comes from TORQUE as well as KW. i mean a stock xr6T can do 0-100 in 5.1 sec (real world times), even the HSV struggles to keep up. Where the turbo six really shines is in its (in gear) real world acceleration at low rpm, this is where 99% of your driving is, the turbo six pulls like a freight train from 1950 rpm with its 533nm. We all know naturally aspirated engines need to rev to achieve max torque, lets face it who drives around at 4500 rpm

I really like the concept, I just hope the execution is right. There is a lot of strain on a 4 Cylinder Engine, pulling a heavy car (I know this, because i have a Turbo Saab). I would be worried about how the turbo is going to hold up with the sort of punishment that the big aussie cars get. My SAAB's engine fan stays on after you turn the car off to cool the turbo down (helps to prevent wear), and how long will a 4 cylinder engine last. I dont know how long a typical falcon 6 lasts, but I have a Commodore thats done nearly 300,000Kms on its original engine and gearbox and shows no sign of stopping. Four Cylinder engines seem to wear out a bit faster. I guess ford will have the last laugh when suckers have to fork out for a replacement turbo.

If this model gets released, I can see substantial overlap with Mondeo - being that it is near the size of the Falcon, and has 4-cylinder engines of a similar size, abeit in a FWD configuration.

anyone who wants a V8 Falcon should convince Ford to develop a V8 Diesel not to dissimilar to the Audi V8 Diesel, this thing has so much Torque you need to wear special undies to keep it all in, plus drive it conservatively and you'll get under 8L/100km, what more can one ask for?

At this rate we will end up with a falcon powered by a sail and peddles, or an attachment to be horse drawn
