Sorry guys, was meant to say my car is 26mths old, not 14. Would be hard pressed doing 42k in 14mths. All the rest still stands.

But I will also mention that I have had heaps of trouble with the drivers door rattling. Been back many times to get it fixed. Ford have now said they need to send it to their panel beaters to check the seals and see what they can do.

Be interesting to hear from others in what they have experienced.

Have a FG G6 EGAS since brand new, now 14mths old with 42k on the clock. Great looking car on outside, very comfortable on inside, but do have some very significant issues with them.

These are facts people. If you have any doubt in my statement, write everything down and go and check for yourself. Have a look BEFORE you buy.

This gas is only gas, no petrol or diesel, so you would think Ford would have designed the boot better. There is no height and the spare tyre takes up over half of the very limited space. The gas version is seriously not a family car, as the 2 of us need to put some luggage on the back seat. No large esky with beers & food in here folks, that has to go on the back seat. Same same for a pram or pusher, and forget about 2 large suitcases. I doubt there are many Taxis using this gas only FG G6 model, as there is next to no luggage room. If there are, they would have removed their spare tyre. Not good removing the spare tyre for driving out of populated areas. A very significant issue.

Another issue is the size of the tyres Ford use. 235/50 R17 are very limited and not a common size tyre. For exact replacement tyres, you would be looking at more than $1200 without alignment. That’s not including rims or mags folks, just the standard tyre.

The condition of Aussie roads are becoming worse is a known fact. If you doubt me, you probably don't drive outside of your suburb, let alone on regional, rural and remote roads. I seriously doubt that Ford did much road noise testing, as there are numerous times on bitumen roads the noise is that bad, that ear plugs are seriously a necessity.

Fuel wise, it is very impressive. Just remember that it is gas and when running low, you do need to make it a priority to fill up. You can’t carry gas in a container if you run out. Again, great looking car on inside and out, but has significant setbacks with luggage room, road noise and uncommon tyre sizes. Bottom line, if I could turn back time, this gas only model would be still sitting in the car yard for sale.

Hey I bought a new Ford E6 Limited Addition and I have found a number of silly little things Ford has forgotten this time round.
A) Boot lining -( just doesn't have one )
B) Window electric buttons - don't have lighting at night .

I have only driven 195km and maybe I got a Friday afternoon throw it together job but Ford you are letter Australia down, my partner has now done 500km in her new Fiester and it is much better finishing.

I guess Ford G6 its limited edition is just that - I hope so for other long time Ford drivers like myself.

Robin, that's right. I have seen several advertised in NSW with 15-20,000km on them and at least 18 months warranty remaining for $35-40K. They are a great bargain at that price. I'm due for a new car next year and I'll have to decide between something sensible or something very fast like this. I feel a mid life crisis may be coming on.

here on the gold coast there arn't many falcons as taxis anymore i was in a taxi that was toyota preise hybrid and taxi drivers are lapping them up and the best fuel consumpion that i saw on the control screen was 3.6 litres per 100 km and why would you drive a falcon as a taxi unless if they bring out a hybrid version and ford should have a hybrid with a taxi pack version and soon toyota camery will bring out a hybrid version to australia and in the usa toyota have the hybrid camery over there i don't know if any are taxis in the us and if i taxi owner i would use a hybrid camery as a taxi and when toyota brings out the camery hybrid alot of taxis will get them by the truck loads and toyota should bring back the camery wagon witch would be very popular with hybrid and one day i saw a few 1.6 litre carolla wagon as taxis with lpg on them and some are diesel taxis as well the day of the big 6 cylinder cars are going to be a thing of the past they are going to the 4 cylinder motor on taxis

Factory fitted systems never got the full rebate.

Sure the conversion rebate is reduced, but it was always more than the factory fitted rebate

Just to correct you all.

It is only the after market LPG conversion rebate that is reduced as per the website

www.ausindustry.gov.au/Energyandfuels/LPGVehicleScheme/Pages/home.aspx.

If the car is factory fitted with LPG the full 2000 rebate applies.
