Alfa Romeo MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde released for Frankfurt
September 10, 2009 by Matt Brogan
Alfa Romeo have released an exclusive version of its MiTo for the Frankfurt Motor Show to be known as the Quadrifoglio Verde.
This white hot, four-leaf clover version of the already sporty hatch aims to “redefine sportiness” while at the same time placing a new emphasis on the environment.
Powered by Alfa’s 1.4-litre MultiAir TBi engine the Quadrifoglio Verde delivers 126kW to ensure sub seven second 0-100km/h times. The engine will be mated to a C635 six-speed gearbox developed by Fiat.
Fuel economy returns are a low 4.8 litres per 100 kilometres (combined) while CO2 emissions are a relatively low 139 g/km.
Alfa Romeo says this package provides “a new kind of sportiness that combines maximum driving pleasure with improved environmental qualities.”
The MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde will also be fitted standard with a new version of Alfa’s dynamic suspension, jointly developed with Magneti Marelli.
The tri-mode package (normal/all-waether/dynamic) will feature electronic dampers that actively and continuously adjust to vehicle speed and road conditions to provide optimum comfort, agility and safety.
Accenting the car’s tough looks are 17-inch alloy wheels inspired by those from the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione.
The MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde is finished exclusively in titanium coloured paint.

I fell off my chair. 1.4 ltr motor with 126Kw!!!!
You obviously missed the Fiat 500 article, 1.4 with 134KW, WTF?
These MiTo’s are going to sell like hot cakes. Extremely hot, endangered, tasty cakes.
Is this the replacement GTA, or is this just a limited edition? Cos i thought the GTA had 170kw plus.
Much rather this over the Fiat as it doesnt look as cutesy.
What this article doesn’t mention is that this a new engine for Alfa Romeo. It features their MultiAir system. It removes the throttle body and instead runs electronic actuators to let the air in. Apparently allowing a 15% in torque and 10% in power.
The GTA is being delayed for a late 2010 release because of the world economic crises.
MiTo’s pricing in Australia doesn’t make much sense…. It should be cheaper than the Mini – just like in Europe.
Fiat Group are onto a winner with their Multiair Technology and does it without the complication of VW Groups Turbo/Surpercharger conination whilst achieving great power/economy and Co2 emissions
Brilliant Fiat!!
