2007-2008 Holden Captiva recalled for diesel engine fault

Holden has announced a recall on diesel variants of its Captiva SUVs, over concerns that the engine could lose power or stall while driving.

Announced on Christmas Eve, the recall centres on rocker arm bearings in the 2.0-litre engines of diesel Captiva models, which could fail after lengthy exposure to degraded oil.

The carmaker reports that this situation could result in a reduction of power or, worse, a stall.

The recall affects models models built between December 28, 2006 to February 28, 2008, across the VIN range KL3CD26RJ7B052819 to KL3CD26RJ8H308370.

Holden has confirmed it will write to owners of affected vehicles to arrange inspection.
