2010 Reva EV to be unveiled at Frankfurt

By Matt Brogan |

REVA, the Indian based electric car company, has released information on two new vehicles it is set to reveal at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week.

The first model (pictured above) is the NXR; a four-seat, three-door hatchback intended for urban environments. Production is scheduled to commence at the beginning of 2010.

The Bangalore-based company (formed as a joint venture between Maini Group of India and AEV LLC of California) will also debut the NXG (pictured below), a vehicle designed by Dilip Chhabria of DC Design.

You know when you see a car and you just can’t help but wonder how it’s possible that at some point, somebody thought it looked good enough to sign off on?

Maybe its the same guy who signes off on the Subaru.

I have a remote control car that looks just the same. Seriously though. India/China will become the world car manufacturing capitols in the not to distant future. This electric car is testament to that they are already smarter then the dinosaurs at the new G.M.

Not with cars like this they won’t.

India and China are already the world super power in car manufacturing. More cars are made in China then anywhere else in the world.
India’s electric car is evidence they can start with a clean sheet of paper and make an electric car. Granted the body looks like a matchbox reject.

China are the second largest motor vehicle producers in the world, India are ninth. Japan still holds top spot by more than two million vehicles a year, but China will close the gap and eventually take the lead. India however has a long way to go.

Even if they could double production next year they would still only be fifth after the US ( 3rd) and Germany (4th).

        China is the quiet achiever.
