Details of the new and updated DS models launching in Australia in 2016.
DS 4 and/or DS 4 Crossback – Q3
The premium arm of French brand Citroen is looking at a relatively quiet year in Australia, following a busy 2015 which saw the arrival of the updated DS 5, and the move to separate the brand from Citroen in the process. As such, the cars that will arrive from now will DS models, rather than Citroen DS models.
However, we may see the introduction of the facelifted DS 4– which is now offered in two styles in other markets.
They are the standard hatchback, which already had something of a crossover stance, and the more crossover-style DS4 Crossback.
It’s not yet clear if Australia will receive one or both of these variants, but the company has confirmed that the updated model – which saw a range of cosmetic and technological changes – is “on the radar” for local launch.
Expect it here in the third quarter of the year. Pricing shouldn’t move too far from the current base level of $37,490 plus on-road costs for the hatch, though a small premium may be asked for the Crossback version.
