I agree that it is lazy journalism and editing to only run the above sketches that inaccurately portray the true shape of YF Sonata. The reasonable quality leaked TV ad photos would have been a better option to give a more exact picture of the end product.

There are reports on SpyCarShots that the official pics will now be released on Sept. 16, with the Korean launch to occur at month’s end.

The pics so far reveal and awkward and oversized grille that spoils an otherwise fluidic design.

dont see the pattern? the Koreans are the new Japanese, and the chinese are the new Koreans.
its just like how the Japanese cars improved so greatly decades ago.

i love japanese cars, but id actually drive a korean car these days. I cant wait for the genesis coupe to get here.

The difference being that Unlike the Chinese who are doing nothing but producing cheap tacky knock-offs of existing cars [which end up looking like they're from the 70s 80s].. the Koreans are designing their own cars from scratch – with a bit of style flair and individuality

Anybody who thinks that the Korean’s, ie Hyundai/Kia group are a joke, are in for a rude awakening.

They just keep taking HUGE strides ford, mind you they have to, the Chinese are rapidly approaching in the mirror…..

I do wish journalist reporters do more homework and research, especially when car is pretty much already known! Instead they go off computer pics with wildly large wheels and completely out of proportion body! Its time to lift your game a tad as my link is old news! My pic in link closely follows contours and suggests look of upcoming car. Your reliance on pic is stale real old news, not cutting edge and behind where you should be (i.e. informative and ahead of other AUST motoring websites).

Hyundai should put this aside and import the much more cohesive and successful Genesis from the states. If they did many luxo buyers from VW and even Audi might consider it. Then again, thanks to badge snobbery they wont sell many to the masses.

There are already some real world pictures of the new Sonata(full production version) going around. They have leaked from a TV commercial that Hyundai has been preparing for its launch in domestic South Korean market scheduled this month.
