Subaru Impreza diesel hits UK, wait & see for Australia
Subaru’s all-new 2.0-litre boxer diesel engine has now found its way in to the brand's five-door hatch, Impreza.
The horizontally-opposed 110kW/350Nm unit is said to be well refined, flexible and offer excellent throttle response.
Capable of a combined average fuel economy figure of 5.0 litres per 100km, for a theoretical range of 1080kms from a single tank, Impreza Diesel also manages low CO2 emissions of just 155 g/km.
With a top speed of 204km/h, and a 0-100km/h time of 9.0 seconds, the Impreza Diesel is available two model grades, the 2.0D RC and 2.0D RX.
The Impreza 2.0D range starts at £20,000 (A$38,950) on the road in the UK.
Subaru Australia has told CarAdvice that although Impreza Diesel is not yet slated for the local market the success of the upcoming Outback Diesel, due here November 1, could prove a catalyst for bringing other diesel models to our shores if demand is strong enough.
