2014 Opel Astra Coupe – Spy Pics

CarAdvice has today received the renderings of Opel’s upcoming 2014 Astra Coupe.

The images show smooth flowing lines with a rear end not dissimilar to Mazda’s current 3.

Although we’ve yet to hear any conclusive facts about the car itself, we’re pretty certain that if the pics are anything to go by, Opel is on a winner.

I take it the rear window is for aesthetic purposes as it poses no functional benefit whatsoever.

Yes… it does look a bit Mazdaish… but everyone copies everything.. there is no such thing of originality.. (obviously some copy more than others…)

Have you seen the back of the Civic ummm….. Holden Cruize…
Get familiar with it, because Holden sacrificed Opel For Daewoo…
And while they will get that, we get the cruize… Nice…

Looks good – but why 2014? The 5 door will be on sale early next year, so isn’t it more likely that this coupe will follow within 12 months, along with a wagon? The CC may be held over until 2012-13, but 2014? Is Opel THAT broke?

if opel have copied the mazda 3, mazda should take note, – opel clearly showing how to do it right rather than the ridculous looking front end of the mazda

Mazda 6 and Passat CC lovechild? Looks good though, it’s a shame the Astra line was dropped here.

Holden means a great deal to Australia!

But Australia means nothing to Holden, it’s all about importing cheap Korean cars and making as much margin as they can.

If holden could make a good profit on importing the astra they would. the fact is, people in australia are not prepared to pay a 10 or 15 grand priemium for a boring opel when you can buy a commodore for the same price.

Wow. That’s beautiful. Especially from the back. I definitely see what people mean when they say it looks a bit like a 3, but there is something slightly wrong with how the 3 looks while this is just perfect. A VXR version would be extremely tempting.
