Golf CC will take many of the same styling cues of its bigger brother, Passat CC, and will sit as a premium model in the revised line-up.

Nice looking car, but it could be a bit more coupe-ish. It makes sense that there would be a Golf CC. After all, the entire point of the Passat CC was to take a relatively boring looking car and make it more ineresting. I’m sure the base Golf could use the same treatment.
I hope they don’t make a GTI version though because the GTI is a hot hatch so I wouldn’t like to see them introduce a body style that wasn’t a hatch.

I think it looks pretty good, certainly nicer than the Jetta.
While I can see this going into production for large markets (Europe and the US), I wouldn’t count on us getting it.

Putting the GTI engine in would be fine (this is a *premium* Golf), but yeah don’t dress it up like a GTI.
If we are to get another hot hatch we should get the Scirroco.

  2. TTrs says:

golf looks better in hatch for me.

  3. ptwhite2003 says:

Strongly reminiscent of the Proton Gen 2 (seriously). Proton designers should feel proud.

  4. Yanzo says:

it looks pretty good, better then the previous one but i think the butt needs to stick out more

  5. Pops says:

Love the Passat CC (looks awesome in the flesh) but the CC concept does not translate well to the Golf IMO.

I don’t particulary see the relevance of this model unless it is supposed to replace the Jetta.

& 2014? Cmon. The Golf would be entering its MkVII model cycle by then which should be a completely new reskin?!

  6. Baddass says:

    Agree wif ya pop

  7. Neck Pain says:

There looks like a serious lack of rear head room in there. Even in the current Jetta design there’s less head room than the equivalent Golf; the CC looks downright cramped.

  8. Rosh says:

Firstly, That looks awful, i thought VW would be going places with the designs, the front of the car from the side elevation reminds me of the previous Opel/Vauxhall Astra’s, which doesnt say much for a ‘premium’ car. The whole body just doesnt look like a design that has progressed, looks more like borrowed elements of other manufacturers, and by 2014, if it still looks anything like that, it aint gonna be so hot… I hope they improve this car.
Secondly, Golf IS Hatchback, ideology of the car was compact, sporty and fun, what the hell are they thinking, rather give the shape to the passat or the jetta, they are more saloon orientated.

  9. mike says:

nah, much more holden Cruz PMSL

  10. Steve-Poyza says:

Whoever thought of this idea, in my opinion, is an idiot. The closest thing to a Golf coupe would be the VW Sciroco really, like what the Renault Megane coupe is to the Renault Megane hatch. I’m almost 100% sure this is the last thing on VW’s mind.

  11. john says:

Could this be the next Jetta? That’d be awesome!
