Whether or not I have or I haven't driven an Aston Martin or a Jag or even one of your beloved Maseratis - doesn't mean that I am not entitled to have an opinion or make a comment.

Afterall; there are those on here who criticise Commodores and Falcons even though a number of them haven't driven either of them in the past 5 years.. but somehow their comments are somewhat justified...
Why? because they think the same way as you?

Let's face it a number of the people who make such comments couldn't bring themselves to walking into a Holden or Ford dealership because of their personal prejudice that they are going to be crap regardless of how good the car is.

I just think that for $220-240K [when compared to it s rivals] the interior of the Jag looks a bit budget that is all.

no car magazine, even those biased pommie mags ,have ever put a jaguar in front of a porsche. Yes the xk may have more space than a 911 because it is a larger car but the fact is for its size it is still rather tight inside

Wheelnut, have you driven either car? Because something tells me you probably haven't and if you haven't, you're in no place to comment. Just because it's an Aston Martin doesn't automatically make it a better car.
I'm not trying to say that the DB9 isn't an excellent car, but it's a bit front heavy because of the V12 which affects the handling and makes it feel far more GTish than super-carish. There's no problem with GTs, but the Jaguar manages to combine the two in a far more convincing package for far less money and still brilliant good looks (to me anyway).
Finally, it's quite funny that you think that the Jaguar looks like it has Ford Mondeo bits because the XK has a completely unique interior while the DB9 does share some rather obvious interior bits with the previous Mondeo. I've never noticed them myself, but I only drove the last Mondeo once so I suppose I wouldn't. But they are there.

"The new XKR is better than a DB-9"

Thanks Alex.... after the day I've had today; I needed a laugh!

Unlike the Jag; there isn't that much in an Aston Martin which looks like it's come from a Ford Mondeo.

You are joking? The 911 is far more cramped than the XK and the 911 isn't that cramped at all. Besides, the revised XKR has actually been called better than the current 911 by many different motoring magazines, though I think that's more a reflection on the fact that the new 911 isn't as good as the last.
Weight only matters if it actually effects the car. The XK handles beautifully so why does it matter?
Finally, how exactly is it over priced?

Ugly interior. Everything else in that price range is a cut above.
