2016 Mazda CX-9 previewed ahead of LA auto show debut
A teaser sketch for the 2016 Mazda CX-9 has been handed down today, ahead of the all-new SUV’s unveiling at the Los Angeles auto show on November 20.
There are few surprises to be found in this first preview, with the revealing artwork hinting at a design that builds on Mazda’s existing Kodo styling language.
Recent spy photos also reveal more than a few key details about the big new CX-9’s look, again confirming that the smaller CX-5 and CX-3 models already represent a clear glimpse of what’s to come.
The carmaker has yet to reveal any technical details for the new 2016 CX-9, although it is known that the new model will offer seven seats, rivalling the likes of Toyota’s Kluger and the Nissan Pathfinder.
Australia’s CX-9 is expected to stick with a petrol-only plan, with Mazda Australia chief Martin Benders confirming with CarAdvice in August that a diesel engine is not planned.
More on the new CX-9 will be revealed in the coming weeks.
