Kia Forte Koup Mud Bogger revealed ahead of SEMA debut

Based on the Kia Forte Koup, sold as the Cerato Koup down under, the Mud Bogger will be one of six officially commissioned Kia concepts on display at this year's SEMA show in Las Vegas.

Each of Kia's SEMA 2015 show cars is inspired by a different region in the USA, and are said exemplify the various car cultures that are present throughout the 50 states. The hand-built Mud Bogger is said to represent the "adventurous American South and the inexplicable joy of getting dirty on four wheels".

To this end, the Mud Bogger has given a suspension setup that gives the two-door coupe an extra 102mm (4.0 inches) of ground clearance. To accommodate the car's 28-inch off-road tyres, Kia has modified the Koup's fenders and side skirts, and riveted on a new set of wheel arch extensions.

There's also a white nudge bar up front with LED spot lights. According to Kia, the interior of the Mud Bogger is stripped down, with carpeting removed and a Line-X protective coating applied to the car's floor.

The company has also welded in a roll cage and replaced the Koup's standard seats with a set of Sparco Evo II Red Race buckets.

Yesterday the company revealed the Sorento Trail Edition (or PacWest Adventure Sorento), which draws its influence from the mountain, tree and lake filled Pacific Northwest that takes in much of Idaho, Oregon and Washington states, as well as the Canadian province of British Columbia.
