Nissan teases self-driving electric car concept for Tokyo

Aside from the teaser image above, Nissan has revealed remarkably little about the concept. Under the title "Together we ride to Tokyo", the Japanese car maker simply states that the concept is about "the future vision of car intelligence and electrification".

And that's it.

With a Zero Emission badge at the base of the A-pillar, it's safe to assume that the, as yet unnamed, concept is an electric vehicle. Piecing together the words "ride" and "car intelligence", it's probably safe to surmise that the concept will house some form of self-driving technology.

The concept car may also possibly provide a few clues as to the styling of the next-generation Leaf, which probably won't debut before 2017 and may feature body styles aside from a hatchback.

From what we can see, the concept features stark surfacing, enlivened with bold wheel arches, a shoulder line that terminates at the base of the A-pillar, and an electric blue highlight down the side that mimics the kinked window line seen in the latest Maxima sedan and Murano crossover.

Up front, other in vogue Nissan style cues are in evidence, with C-shaped LED driving lights flanking a "V-motion grille", albeit one with blue backlighting and an LED lit frame.
