Lexus teases Tokyo concept: “Vision of progressive luxury” promised

Lexus has handed down the first preview of a new concept bound for this month’s Tokyo motor show, promising “a vision of progressive luxury”.

The teaser’s release follows news early last week that Lexus would use the Tokyo show to highlight the next step in its evolving styling language, although nothing had been revealed at the time.

This shadowy preview image changes little about that, revealing only a tightly cropped look at the concept’s headlight design and surrounding decoration.

Lexus has otherwise opted for silence, forcing fans to speculate as to just what the company will reveal in Tokyo on October 28.

Earlier reports have suggested that Lexus would reveal either a concept preview or the final production version of its next-generation LS sedan, but a look at the company’s big new flagship coupe could also be on the cards.

However, the company could also be preparing to preview a replacement for its small CT hatch, which is now into its sixth year.

Watch for Lexus to drop another hint or two before next week’s big unveiling.
