Video: HSV releases second E Series 2 teaser

By George Skentzos |

HSV has released the latest teaser video for its upcoming E Series 2 range, confirming the addition of several new features as well as proving that earlier spy shots were indeed the genuine article.

With HSV ambassadors Garth Tander, Greg Murphy and Will Davison each making a cameo appearance, the new teaser video shows more of the car than ever before with just over a fortnight to go until the official unveiling.

In order of appearance, HSV has now confirmed that the E2 line-up will include an exhaust outlet incorporating a shockwave graphic, and a hi-flow intermediate exhaust system.

A popular addition will be the availability of a comprehensive SV enhanced options range, meaning customers can likely tailor their car to suit their taste – which could potentially mean the front fascia from earlier spy shots may be one of several on offer from HSV.

The range will continue to use the 6.2-litre LS3 V8 engine with HSV teasing at a “3XX” kilowatt power figure, confirming that peak power has indeed been lifted.

A raft of HSV driver assist technologies will also be introduced, with Performance and Track modes for the MRC system as well as two new Stability Control settings – a launch control feature has also been speculated.

Getting ready to take to the Coyote V8,it may need to lose some weight aswell.

What do they mean by shockwave graphic? Says its incorporated into the sheetmetal too

  • Tom

Considering its the most classified project in HSV history, the pics sure did leak fast.

And they are not looking promising.

So they gave the child (who made and filmed the first teaser) another chance. Good on them.
I thought the brief would have been to improve from the last video: they are working backwards!

  • Shak

Stuff the teaser. The new features actually look promising. I thought the driver assist was adaptive headlights as they showed the headlights at that point. But it look like they are focusing more on their performance aspect as they know they cant compete in the luxo sector when it comes to value for money. But either way cant wait for the ninth.

It’s sad the design isn’t as cohesive as the last E series.
This upgrade looks rather tacky, like George Lucas designed the body kit with out seeing the rest of the car.
Body Kit, ESP and 3 More KW? TOTALLY TOP SECRET DUDE!

I think the “shockwave” graphic is the shape of the exhaust outlet…, The scene before this outlines a similar design and the opening scene, and scenes with the 3 “agents” in it show the same design is the “building” frame where the 3 agents are….

The bit that says “incorporated into the sheetmetal” – Well the spy shots show the same shockwave shape as the front bumber grill feature..(like the ford kinetic designs too!!!)

Hrmmm, spy shots are seemingly the real deal.. not happy.

Hopefully, the update improves more on handling than straightline ability…plenty of cars can do sub 6sec 0-100.

  • The Realist

Sheer Class. All they needed was for the men in black to be holding VB and big macs and the teaser would be perfect.

  • crouchy

hmmm doesnt exactly confirm that spy pics are real. The exhaust is right on the sedan however the wagon’s is different and the led driving lights look to be the same shape (showing through the last image).. but apart from that i’m still not convinced..

I’m thinking those leaked pics are real. In which case, what the HELL, HSV? What happened to the extreme elegant power of your R8 and the Senator? Those are the best looking mass produced aussie cars out today, and you slap this boy racer ricer tat on them? (I drive a Mitsu FTO with a bodykit and Im saying this)

  • Brett

    Lame!

  • D

I’m still living in hope that the front is going to look different to those ‘leaked’ photos, if not, then I can see some darks days for HSV soon.

  • Deco

Man guys…. those other pics are real and they are not real.

HSV is allowing you to customise certain parts of your vehicle.

So you can choose pontiac scoops, or choose not to have themfor example.

  • http://zuboora.com.au Mohamad is right when he

    speewwww

    Booooringgg…

  • Shak

I hope for the sake of all Australian’s that Deco is correct…

Looks like the overall reaction to E2 has been very negative, even disbelief that HSV seems to have let high school kids use the textas in their design room. E2 belongs in the same basket as the Magna Ralliart and Toyota’s TRD.
Maybe that’s the market they are chasing now.

  • Shak

Some ralliart variants are ok by my drives Smoov. I didnt say good just ok…

  • Steve

I don’t know about you guys but I think Garth’s got an ear infection..
