Range Rover Evoque Convertible teasers kick off with wireframe sculptures

Land Rover has fired up the teaser campaign for its new Range Rover Evoque Convertible this week by launching a sequel to the 2011 launch of the regular hardtop Evoque SUV.

As with that earlier campaign, the new droptop SUV has been previewed this week with a series of six wireframe sculptures dropped in key London locations, taking the form of 1:1 scale representations of the Evoque Convertible.

“The Range Rover Evoque Convertible is perfectly suited to the urban surroundings of a city like London and it’s the perfect place to showcase the world’s first luxury compact SUV convertible,” Land Rover design chief Gerry McGovern said.

“The locations chosen reflect the refined and luxurious lifestyle of an Evoque Convertible customer – two attributes this vehicle will deliver plentifully.”

Although these latest artworks were crafted by Land Rover’s own design team, they clearly reflect the work of noted wireframe artist Benedict Radcliffe, who was responsible for the original Evoque wireframe installations.

Revealed first as a concept in 2012, the Evoque Convertible was at last confirmed for production earlier this year.

The third body style in the Evoque range - joining the existing three- and five-door hardtop variants - will make its official production debut in November.

An Australian launch is also confirmed, expected at this stage to occur by mid-2016.
