Video: 2010 Porsche 911 GT3 RS facelift

August 20, 2009 by George Skentzos

Following its official debut yesterday, Porsche has released a new video showcasing the performance of its facelifted 911 GT3 RS.

Designed to be the ultimate rear-wheel drive sports car, the RS boasts a normally aspirated 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which generates an impossible 336kW.

This car needs to lose the “rice” graphics and silly spoiler (in place for a decent looking spoiler, of course).

The front looks like a mouth with lipstick.

I’d rather a double espresso (ferrari) rather than your usual boring same old flate white with heaps of milk (PORSCHE)..

i don’t know what you guys are on about, it’s a very Porsche thing to have accented highlights through the decals. it is a race bred car anyway, so the colour choice reflects this. I’m sure if you had the coin to buy it you could stipulate a “no decal” option.

to the guy who said the rear wing is “rice”…i doubt it, looks purely functional, what do you prefer? a non adjustable rear wing or a track conditions tuneable wing?

it’s a suprisingly quiet, no fanfare type promo video.

Finally, i’m not sure what car advice means by this:
” 3.8-litre six-cylinder boxer engine which generates an impossible 336kW”.

so does it produce 336kw or not? lol ;P

It’s called hyperbole. CA are alluding to the fact that 336kW from a naturally-aspirated engine is remarkable. To put into perspective, a 6.2L HSV engine generates just 317kW.

Perhaps HSV can take a leaf out of Porsche’s book when it comes to teaser videos.
By the way, it is great to see a car raced on a track other than Nurburgring.

Yeah james your english skills dont seem to be quite up to date. 336Kw from a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder car with such miniscule capacity is earth shattering.

Yes please i love this car.The only thing i would change is i would not have all those stickers over the car bit tacky.Along the bottom would be ok like the old cars is ok but all over the body just wrecks it a bit for me

oww, ok i get it now, 336KW as in “HOW THE F**K! DO THE DO IT!” sort of impossible.

if,…IF i had the cash to buy this car i’d only have it as a track car, so the decals wouldn’t bother me. I’d probably be driving around in a merc or a bmw as the daily drive lol. Of course either of these would be in their tuned derivatives, AMG or M only, no poxent standard fare, throw in some imported German tuning house parts to the mix as well…damn it, just for the heck of it.

and why only a Merc or Beemer? because i only drive german. HAIL! lol

      we can only dream.
