Gilly, I have two Skylines. I will say 1st I am not a great fan of the R35. I don't know what you are asking?

Why they made the R35 in the 1st place or why they are selling it here?

The R35 is a big seller in the US, Japan and Europe. The old Skylines were huge successes even though they only sold in Japan. It would be an obvious profit centre with the hype generated over the years. I think Nissan have obvious skills in this area and whether I like it or not, the car pulls the numbers they said it would.

Why they brang it here? Obvious halo model. I remember it being front page of all the car mags and even people not interested in motor cars knows what the Nissan Skyline name means.

Does that mean that Nissan have any money or will to revive Infiniti or any of these $100k+ luxury sedans here?

Big fat NO.

I often wonder why CA gives so much column space to cars that will never come here. I have doubts anyone is truly interested in cars that will never been seen here.

Why did they bother with the R35 GTR then Tony? I find it weird too!
If you have driven the latest Maxima, styling aside it is far from a "off cut sedan". It has also toppled the mighty Toyota for quality.
Bring on the Infiniti FX35, it makes the RX350 look like.....um..... a Kluger!

let's be honest here... nissan australia are a small outpost that sells half a dozen 4wds and a few crappy hatches and some offcut sedans... and a supercar

they don't have the trendiness of honda/mazda nor the apparent reliability of toyota

sure they have a massive fanbase who love the skylines and silvias but you can't translate that to actual sales

last time they tried to introduce Infiniti they sold single digits... a year... who remembers the Q45?

Infiniti went big guns in the US and in Japan the never forgot their sporting past with the Skylines and Stageas

So those interesting Nissans in Japan and the US will never come here.

Skylines will never come here. They are more expensive than the 370z... which is already $70k here. They used to be Commodore rivals didn't they?

If you really want one of these you can try the Japanese importers in a few years.

Wonder what the V8 engine power/torque specs are, how do the V6's go? Whenever I hear of V6 I just think Commodore and that isnt something you'd really want in something like this. The front really does have the old hyundai/Kia look about it, but the interior looks nice, really japanese, which is a good change. I like the rear end styling tho, looks nice
