New 2008 Ford Falcon Orion Computer Generated Pictures

The Herald sun have been hard at work over the last week, first it was the leaked photos of the new Series III Mitsubishi 380 Sedan, and now, the Herald has published photos of the new Ford Falcon:
The Herald Sun claims that these computer generated images were disposed of after an FPV meeting, soon before being stumbled upon by an eager reader.
If this is true, the production version, which is set to hit showrooms early next year (probably in time for the Melbourne Motor Show – March), may very well be near identical to what you are seeing now.

Images show the GT and GT-P from Ford’s performance stable, FPV, along with images of the F6 Typhoon.
Comparing these to our spy photos of the Falcon GT, there is a very noticeable resemblance.
The computer generated images sourced by the Herald Sun show what is most probably an early design of the Orion. Our spy photos and sources indicate the upper models – such as the FPV GT-P (pictured) – will feature Xenon headlights, cross-drilled and slotted brakes, along with new wheels.
A stripe package will also probably remain for the Orion Falcon, considering the big uptake of the option on B-series FPV GTs and GT-Ps.
Ford Australia have declined to comment on the images, stating that they are simply pretty images and that we should all wait until the final product is released. One thing is for certain though, all the publicity is revving up fans of the blue oval marque.

I used to be a holden fan and the last time I seen a real aussie built holden was when PETER BROCK was making them since then I have only seen garbage german design yank motor jap electronics italian leather and so on.
ford make and build all of there own gear the government
tell them what they can put in as well what level to allow
modifications for safty you want to buy a real holden buy an old one
ps what makes a holden go better = ford parts as is what they use in there race cars
even if ford was to use a euro engine the rest would an aussie car holden they make me laugh the only holden to the name is the tape holding the parts together on race day
by they way how many recalls has holden had for there cars ?
40 years of GT High Performance Falcons and soon 50 years of standard falcons, no other aussie made car company has come close to matching FORD australia. Holden thought good idea lets make a car also like Ford did and copy them. XYGTHO Phase IV Falcon was the fastest 4 door sedan in the world back in the 70s. What did holden (oldhen)have a pimple dick of a car called a torana and Monaro. It took holden (oldhen) over 30 years to make 300kw engine. Again they had to slow the Fords down again because they where far superior in technology again. Ford is mauling Holden in the V8 supercar championships (Ford 20 championships wins Holden only 14). No wonder Graig Lowndes drives a Ford cause hes a living legend like other Ford drivers.
The new orion falcon will be the best car thats ever been built by an aussie manufacturer. All other imports like Holden, Nissan, Toyota will continue on copying Ford cause Ford started it all of. Orion will be king of the aussie made car in 2008. I cant wait bring it on Ford again and shame em all again.
Too right BK! Not only Have Holdenwoo have just got something over 300kw, it’s just an imported crate motor. And the GT-HO was way superior to what anything Holdenwoo could ever come up with back in the 70s. The Red and Blue Motors were so crap by the time the Dunnydore came out, but then the Ford Cross-Flow engine came out and slowly killed it off.
The ford falcon looks fine and im sure they will make most of there engine unlike the 307 R8 i mean its a 6L V8

I say once more, if this is the new Falcon, why bother it’s BA. The turret hasn’t changed at all and that what dates the BA, so if it is carried over, pontless excise by Ford. Now if it looked like Mondeo….

Seen the new Falcon today driving along Horseshoebend Road, Torquay at about 1030am. There where two cars following it and one in front of it. Its a great way to get everybodys attention as it did for me. Great camoflauge they use on it but the FORD badges stood out. I bet they be takin it on the Great Ocean road to give it a good run.

Remember WoW that BA won COTY. BA is still a great platform. Commodores changes weren’t wholesale from VT to VZ either.
There will be so many differences in this car it will only “slightly resemble” a BA. This is evident despite the great camo on all the spyshots.

this will seriously rival the VE. As good as the VE looks, there are some aspects of it which i do not like. The tail lights are disgusting. i also think that the SS is not at all striking and wouldnt get a VE Holden… only a HSV.
The New Ford has some aspects of the BA/BF (which is the best aussie car to come out in many many years). i cant believe that people say that ford has copied the VE, that is a joke.

Seen the new falcon again today and still it looks better than the VE commodore even with all the camflauge on it. Holden should have spent the billion dollars on camoflauging the VE cause that is one ugly car. Holden VE commodore sales are falling fast for a car thats been out for a short time. Big mistake by holden and a waste of money as Ford always makes the smart moves with there new cars. The 4 litre is king of aussie muscle cars.
I know that most Orions drive on the street in convoys, that’s what my sister told me when she went to VIC.

I’d say because Falcon blogs are most popular .eg. This one has 636 posts. 2008 Ford Falcon Orion Interior and GT Exposed has 454 posts. Most of the others are well over 200.

Matthew, You claim “Orion = AU = Failure” because of the floorpan. Well did you know how succesfull the BA was? And BTW what platform was the BA on? …It was the AU.

The blokes over on Ford Australia Forums seem to think the Typhoon will have the “raccoon eyes” and it’ll be an option on the GT-P.
I welcome this info (if true), because that’s the car I’m aiming for and I’ve grown to really like the blackouts.
Yeah, I like the racoon eyes. I just can’t wait to see a real picture of one as they will realy stand out on the road. I also hope they keep the stripe package – Or there will be no point in the name “GT”
The V8 got to be 320+KW & 570NM. And F6 300+KW & 600NM! Because I herd news FPV were having trouble with 310KW, which sounds like a bit of B-S to me. The DJR 320 werent supercharged were they? If they werent, 320kw would be no worries.

No they were just tricked up OZ………different camshafts from Crow ect …….why Ford didn’t do this in the start with their BA I don’t know? Ford should stop trying to invent the wheel and use after market parts that we all buy after the purchase.I mean do you know to purchase a new full exhaust from Ford costs $6000 get an after market one cheaper than that and pickup horsepower! HA HA, I cant understand your comment…Bavarian……Missile…FPV need to do the same treatment the after market mob do to get their Falcon V8s over 320KW. As you know they get them over 320KW without supercharging them – that’s what FPV should do!

This is the beast mobile of cars, Fords been doing it tough lately and as much as I’d hate to see the i6 go i think its for the best.
Thats right get rid of Fords 4 litre straight line 6 cause its to powerful. Slow the fords down again. Fords are always slowed down cause other manufactures cant keep up with em. Keep the Ford straight six, tell the others to improve there engine outputs or just leave.
I agree, It’s a shame about the out-going of the lovely straight 6! But don’t worry guys, the Duratec V6 can create alot of power when turbo charged! A 3.0L version was used in a Nobel with twin turbos and had 317KW. So if the same treatment is done with a 3.5L, it’ll be a killer, I love to see that in a Falcon!
Thats good to hear Oz, the i6 is an Aussie icon particularly they way it pumps out the torque low down, i just hope this new engine can do the same. Even so Australia’s signing of the Kyoto Protocol will soon necessitate lower capacity engines in the search for efficiency as we cut our Co2 output. Something I’m not entirely in favor of. Doing this shows Ford has once again taken a big step forwards, as in the near future bigger engines will become more and more expensive to run.
It is just another Taxi. That is about all Holdens & Fords are good for.
No wonder they banned the Nisan GTR from racing against these old fashioned slammers. The V8 series what a joke.A ford taxi versus a holden taxi is more like it. Nissan & BMW would still be beating them today if they where allowed to race.
I don’t know what you have againts V8 Supercar Realist, It’s the biggest Motorsport event in Australia. Back in the days when Skylines were banned it was a different series.
There are plenty of categories which have production cars like in the days when Nissan were racing, so if the V8s are a joke. How come the V8s are much more popular?
