2016 Land Rover Discovery Sport Dynamic in Australia from May: All Terrain Progress Control added to range
Land Rover’s small Discovery Sport will soon welcome a new flagship to the range, with the unveiling today of a new ‘Dynamic’ variant that will hit Australia from May 2016.
Revealed for this week’s Frankfurt motor show, the Discovery Sport Dynamic introduces a number of styling and driving tricks in its move to unseat the Luxury grade as the line-up’s top model.
Lightweight styling updates set the Dynamic apart visually, but its launch also marks the addition of All Terrain Progress Control and Gesture Tailgate systems to the Discovery Sport range for 2016.
Styling tweaks include new body-coloured exterior trim items for a more sporting look, along with ‘Narvik Black’ highlights and a choice of 19- and 20-inch alloy wheels in a dark satin grey or a gloss black.
Details on the interior have not been released, although new colour highlights, alloy pedals and contrast stitching can be seen.
Away from cosmetics, the highlight for some buyers will be the arrival of All Terrain Progress Control, which works to maintain specific low speeds - between 2 and 30km/h - during off-road activities.
The system also includes a launch function, helping with take-off on varied surfaces ranging from ice to wet grass.
Gesture Tailgate has also been added to the Discovery Sport range, offering hand-free access to the rear storage area with the simple act of waving a foot below the bumper.
The Discovery Sport Dynamic, and the wider range, is otherwise unchanged.
Watch for the Dynamic to make its Australian debut in May, with pricing and further specifications to be confirmed closer to launch.
