this is one of those cars that looks way better in real life pics

  2. John says:

I like it, but I have too see it in the metal before I judge it properly. I absolutely love the look of the DB9, V8 Vantage etc. and this car slots nicely into the range. The designers had a hell of a job here. Take one of the most beautiful cars ever made (DB9) and turn it into a 4 door saloon that still shows without a doubt it is a pure Aston and can’t be confused with any other brand. The pics show they have been quite successful and it does not look like the mess that the stretched 911, sorry panamera looks like!

  3. Alex says:

It looks so much better in black, especially from the back. If it still looks good in ten years, I’ll buy one for twenty thousand pounds.

  4. RdS says:

nice car. the white one from alot of the front angles makes me think of an RX8. not that it looks the same, but theres something there…

that car definetley looks better in the darker colour either way. hopefully theres other wheel choices for a production model though.. eck..

  5. Tim says:

Boring. Every Aston is the same…sure they look good, but to my eyes they are all so boring looking now. Can’t even tell the various models apart.

  6. DAVID says:

what a gorgeous auto. the rapide is looking to be the most beautiful 4 door vehicle on the planet. that C pillar is making me drool.

  7. Yanzo says:

    so it has scissor doors?

  8. Shane says:

The difference between this and the panamera is that this car is just a DB9 that has been stretched and its interior dimensions and comfort will reflect the limitations of that design.
The panamera is a complete new design from the ground up ensuring all interior space and comfort is maximised.

Basically the Aston martin has been engineered to a price yet they wil charge you a premium to buy one

  9. MisterTwo says:

Looks like these photos were taken in Southern or Eastern Europe as it looks very dry, plus the various number plates of the backgroud vehicles including Polish and Italian.

  10. Martin says:

For people saying it looks the same as the rest of their cars and its just a stretched DB9. Take a closer look, there are actually a few new design traits that have been used on this car, but still maintaining the corporate family look. All car brands do it, Ford for example. Further more, I don’t think that such a car brand would simply get an existing model and just “stretch” it, clearly a lot more has gone into it than that.

Yanzo, I think they call those, Butterfly doors or something.

  11. Tom says:

But Shane the Panamera is as ugly as sodomy, whereas this car looks fantastic. In a lot of buyers minds, that’ll be enough. And for a car thats designed from the ground up, the panamera sure does look just like a stretched 911.

Still, in the fantasy world where I could afford one of these cars, I’d get the Maserati Quattroporte S.

  12. Will says:

    Too fast for me…

  13. Steve-Poyza says:

It looks way too long in my opinion.

  14. Jack says:

The only thing i dont like about it is that the headlights look like their packing too much plastic over the top of them on the black one. Makes them stand out ugly…IMO.

  15. Steve-Poyza says:

Jack I agree the black one looks like it has too much plastic around the headlights, but I just had another look at the front photo of the white car and I take back what I said before. It looks stunning and almost perfectly executed! Wow Ihave never had an opinion change so drasticly so quickly. The white one does look way better than the black one though.

  16. The Salesman says:

Classic. Austan Martin knows that you have to stay as close to true form as possible to keep that original style and excitement. You would know it is an Austin Martin coming down the road well before you see the badge. A corporate branding idea that others are only just catching up to now. Why change what is not broken. Brilliant.

  17. Alan says:

A truly beautiful machine, though i do wonder if AM’s styling is becoming a bit boring. They have not being able to move away the basic style started by DB7 a long time ago.

  18. MarkT says:

I agree with previous posters – you can hardly tell the different Aston models apart. But then all 911’s look pretty much the same. In my view Jaguar is now leading the design way forward with their new models…

  19. Jack says:

    Steve-Poyza…

Yes, your right. The white does look magnificent. Its just that black one that makes me etch when i see it.

Could they be two seperate models?

  20. Baddass says:

Jack, you didn’t mean that seriously did you? The plastic is just a disguise to distract people like you from the actual size of the headlamps.

  21. Devil's Advocate says:

    The salesman says:
“…A corporate branding idea that others are only just catching up to now…”

Just to play “Devil’s Advocate”, wouldn’t you call the BMW kidney grill and “Hofmeister kink” an example of a long standing corporate branding? As ‘Bangled’ as BMWs have been getting, people can still tell it is a BMW long before they see the badge. The ‘kink’ has been on BMs since the early 60s and the kidney grill pretty much from day dot. Granted Aston Martin have a very strong corporate branding (grill shape), but they cetainly aren’t the only ones who have stuck with a certain design feature over an extended period. Holden on the other hand… (TVFPIC)

Regardless, IMHO the DB9 is one of the best looking cars EVER designed, period!
