Tomas: I may own a Subaru 02 Impreza RS – and NOT a WRX [as you assumed].. However; I still support the Local car industry and would like to see it survive

The reason I bought the Subie was because at the time Holden didn’t have a car that was in my budget or suitable to my needs – which contradicts your assumption that I am a one eyed brand loyalist

I mean you may support a particular AFL or NRL team but you don’t actually play football [with them] do you?
or you may support Breast Cancer Research even though you don’t have Breasts or Cancer.

"REALISTICALLY (you should try it) no-one cares about international students, maybe we should take a poll?
Let’s not get started on multi-culturalism ROFL"

That's what plebs like you think. I could always quote revenues from international students against revenues from the automotive sector - but you don't believe figures, only sensationalism.

If the government had to choose between international student revenue and Australian manufacturing... bye bye, GMH, Ford Oz and Toyota Oz.

Tomas: if [for example] a particular part of a car costs the local supplier $10 to make and that part is used by Toyota Holden and Ford then the supplier can cover the cost of production by charging each of the 3 local manufacturers $3.33 for each part

[I know they would most likely receive a discount but this is just an example]

Then if one of them was to leave the supplier would charge the remaining 2 manufacturers an increased price of $5 for each part.

That increase of $1.67 per part may be enough to make one of the remaining 2 decide to leave which would most likely mean the other one would leave as well as they would have to pay $10 per part.

The more customers you have and the more parts you sell the lower your cost per unit is - that is one of the basic principles of economics

Nemesis, new Id again??
Nemesis says,
"I watched you last weekend accuse another on this site of name change when it was obvious they were D!ngo."

BS, I know it was you!! Like i said, Caradvice should ban posters with multiple identities.... What else did you contribute to today??

Wheelnut says
""
"Yet unlike you [and others like you on this site.. who can't wait for Holden to close] even though I mightn’t like Toyota; I don’t actually want to see any of the local manufacturers leave Australia"

So why did you buy a Japanese Made WRX instead??

Wheelnut says
"Because when one of them leaves; the local suppliers will increase their prices which will make it more expensive to make cars here and make it more tempting for them to leave as well.
Which will result in mass job losses in not just the auto industry but also your industry maybe even your job."

Wheelnut as I have said allready educate yourself on the basic economic principles of supply and demand.

If Holden disappears from Australia, Toyota and Ford will pick up the slack, since the present commodore customers (fleets) will still need to get their cars from somewhere!!
Thereby the manufactures instead of selling parts to Holden , will sell more parts to Fords and Toyota!!

And since Ford Falcons and Toyota Camries/Aurons contain more australian made content, it will actually be better for australia!!! Also removing the import tarrifs on cars won't effect toyota as much, since toyota exports most of the cars it produces locally!! Making the largest exporter of Australian Made vehicles!!

Holden on the other hand is subsidies by us the taxpayer, and thanks us by selling the G8 significantly cheaper in the U.S, then we can get them locally!!

Tomas: there isn't a Toyota produced in or available in Australia which particularly interests me either.

Don`t worry Tomas79 there is an old saying "You Can't Educate a F@cking Idiot and there seem to be quite a few on here. Blind patriotism generally breeds stupidity, racists and bigots.

No assumptions wheelnut,
It is pathetic that you and Bavarian Missile frequently resort to using different nicks!! But then again, having been shown up, and banned as many times as you guys been, I'm not suprissed!!

It's even more pathetic when you refer to your self in 3rd person, just to backup your argument!!!

I believe Car Advice should ban on poster using multiple identities!!!

Also, please before you start dribbling your usual crap, educate yourself on the basic economic principles of supply and demand.

And since Toyota doesn't produce anything of interest to me localy, I really don't care whether they go or stay!!

There you go again Tomas with your assumptions....

You think that that I am the only one who thinks that if/when Tariffs are reduced Toyota be the first to go?
You should know by now that there are a number of us on here who are rather "critical" of Toyota

However; I am merely trying to counter-balance the uninformed inaccurate comments on this site - in relation to Holden... which is what you claim to do in relation to Toyota isn't it?

Not only that but it seems Taffy was right when he said your response would include insults.... you just can't help yourself can you?
