Lada Vesta Cross SUV concept revealed

Russian carmaker Lada has unveiled the latest in an ongoing run of passenger concepts, the new Vesta Cross.

Based on the X-Ray concepts that have appeared over the past three years, the new Vesta Cross will likely join the Vesta sedan as a key model in Lada’s overhauled line-up.

As with its sedan sibling and last year’s X-Ray 2, the Vesta Cross wears a familiar front-end look (although Lada beat Mitsubishi to the punch with the first X-Ray concept in 2012), matched to large debossed character lines above each wheel arch.

Lada has yet to release full details on the largely production-ready concept, although it is known that both the Vesta Cross and the Vesta sedan are both built on the AvtoVAZ ‘Lada B’ platform, derived from the architecture that underpins the Nissan Juke, Datsun Go and Dacia Logan.

A wagon model is also expected to join the Vesta family sometime after the sedan’s launch, which is understood to be locked in for September.
