2012 Mercedes-Benz SLK spied again

August 6, 2009 by George Skentzos

Another batch of the next generation Mercedes-Benz SLK spy photos have passed through the CarAdvice offices, wearing even more elaborate camouflage than before.

With the official release date still three years away, Mercedes-Benz is obviously taking its time in the development of the new model.

Since CarAdvice last brought you spy photos of the SLK, the Full Throttle team actually managed to catch a first-hand glimpse of the prototype undergoing testing on a stretch of asphalt in Germany.

While our photographer was sworn to secrecy, as we shared the airfield with the Mercedes-Benz engineers, the SLK prototype does appear inadvertently for a few brief moments in the TechArt Porsche teaser.

When it debuts the new model is expected to be much sharper and more upright than the current model, also losing its F1-inspired front end.

Expect the new SLK to fall in line with current Mercedes design trends that have already been applied to the C-Class and E-Class range.
