I have to agree with MAZDAMAN- really like their cars but their salesman are dreadful. Recently purchased our new car only to be lied to by a very pushy salesman who then denied it to the sales manager. DP wasn't much better. Enough to put me off ever buying a mazda again.

Mazdaman, sorry to hear about your troubles. I bought both of mine from a dealer in Mt Gravatt, one in March and one a month ago. I could not be happier with the service or the staff. Have already received info from Mazda about Roadside Assist and extended warranty for the second car. Maybe contact Mazda Australia direct to clarify your situation.

Another great result for Mazda but Hyundai is looming...

I ordered my Mazda 2 Genki + DSC in Dec 07 and took delivery Feb 08 and now this great little car will make room for a MPS3 in Feb 2010

Here is a breakdown of what Mazda models sold for July:

Mazda Model Breakdown (Model - Monthly Sales - YTD Sales)

Mazda2 - 1,106 - 7,570
Mazda3 - 2,732 - 20,901
Mazda3 MPS - 53 - 80
Mazda6 - 672 - 5,087
Mazda6 MPS - 0 - 2
MX-5 - 29 - 301
RX-8 - 35 - 289
CX-7 - 323 - 2,179
CX-9 - 303 - 2,363
BT-50 4X2 - 428 - 3,155
BT-50 4X4 - 343 - 2,700

Its a great result for Mazda.
If they had better dealers they would probably do even better. There can be no argument that Mazda make great cars (I've just bought my 4th) but they dealers are a$$holes. Their old fashioned sales tricks belong in the bad old days of shonky used car salesmen. I was amazed a dealer thought they could flat out lie to me and still think I would buy from them. Of the 4 dealers I went to in Brisabne, 2 lied to me, 1 was very deceptive and misleading. Luckily I went to Cleveland and found an honest salesman and a etical dealer and bought from them.
I've had my 6 nearly 3 months and I'm still waiting for Mazda to send me any info on their roadside assist or clarify whether I got the 3 or 4 year warranty

AAA, you would think what you are saying is true but in reality it couldn't be any further from the truth. The release of the new 3 was actually brought forward from mid June to early April because they had pretty much already RUN OUT of the previous model. Even as early as Jan this year there were only limited numbers of certain models of the 3 available because they were not going to build any more. Mazda Australia asked head office to bring forward the release of the new model because they were running out and in some cases had already run out of stock. So it is actually the opposite to what you are saying. If they released it in June like originally planned they would have actually sold LESS, not more.

Hard to believe, but it is true!

Well done Mazda. After owning various Jap (Subaru, Honda)and Aussie (Holden, Ford) cars I would say that the two Mazdas we own now (3 hatch and 6 wagon) are two of the best cars ever. Right price, right equipment and great service from dealer.

Back in June 2009 when the new Mazda3 was first released, there were hoo-ha's that the new Mazda3 was already a huge success selling 4000 or 5000 units. I told them it was because of the run out sales of the previous Mazda3 that made up most of the sales and that the new Mazda3 won't sell as well because of the stupid fugly grin. The new Mazda3 would be lucky if it didn't go the way of the AU Falcon or the Boulay's fugly TL Magna, which killed it.

Thats true Andrew M, I bought a 323 "shades" back in '98. Ordered it in March, it was built in April and delivered to me in May.

I wanted the metallic blue but they tried to sell me the white one on the lot, said they'll but pin stripes on it. I said "Its still f#cken white! I'll take the blue thanks. :)

P.S. The model was coming to the end of its cycle and they had no cars, in manual, in the colour i wanted in the country.
