Lotus Exige 360 Cup unveiled

Just 50 examples of the Lotus Exige 360 Cup will be produced, all featuring a host of upgrades, including a little extra power, styling modifications, some discarded kilograms and a revised chassis.

Located behind the passenger cell is a supercharged 3.5-litre Toyota V6 that's been further modified and tuned by Lotus. With a TRD high flow air filter and Lotus exhaust, the V6 now develops 265kW of power and 400Nm of torque. That's up 7kW over the regular Exige V6 Cup that this car is based on.

The motor is connected to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual and an electronic differential lock. Weight has been reduced by around 47 kilograms to 1130kg thanks to new lightweight panels, including an updated louvred tailgate and front access panel, as well as removed equipment.

Lotus says that the Exige 360 Cup is capable of completing the 0-100km/h standard in under four seconds and hitting a top speed of 274km/h.

The car rides on adjustable suspension and Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres all around, with 205/45 rubber up front and 265/35 units at the rear. They're matched to eye-catching red alloy wheels that measure 17 inches in diameter up front and 18 at the back.

In a weight saving measure the air conditioning, sound insulation and sound system have all been removed and placed on the options list. The extras list also includes carbonfibre seats, four-point safety harnesses, adjustable front and rear anti-roll bars, Ohlins adjustable dampers, a quick release steering wheel, contrasting red interior highlights, and a fire extinguisher.
