Speed kills - this is the biggest con many governments have been selling to people. I will give you a good example from Australia in general. How is this possible that very heavy and very big trucks can do the same speeds as modern passenger car? I have been living in this country for 25 years and I must say that for the outsider the first impressions on Australian roads are: A) Heavy trucks are the fastest cars on Australian roads and often driving on fast lines, B) Australian drivers in general are very aggressiveness and with no courtesy to other road users, C) Australian police fights the war against population.
In most of modern and educated countries (also in the Middle East) speed limitation between truck + buses is 20km/h and usually max. speed for trucks is 80km/h and trucks are prevented on driving on fast lines. So, for the Australian traffic authorities passenger car and heavy truck driving at the speed represent the same level of safety / or risk. What a joke and hypocrisy!!!! ,,, or maybe total incompetence and stupidity!

The tolerance in Victoria is only 2 km/h for fixed cameras and 3 for (usually illegal) mobile cameras.

Dont know why the people still vote for labour in SA.Either they are too polite to protest or swear softly like gentlemen.I must admit its confusing with too many signs from 110kph,100kph,80kph,70kph,60kph,50kph,40kph,25kph and most areas dont have any signs and thats when they love taking your car with their camera. That is so obvious! You love this sorry state because its out to rip us high and dry.Mate!Next round in under 4years time, best to vote for these changes and perhaps they might listen to win votes.

I know for sure that speed cash registers save lives.

I know that because since they were introduced, I haven't died.

It was noted in the Hearld-Sun newspaper (Melbourne)last week that the Victorian speed limit tolerance is 6km/h. It isn't the 10km/h it should be, when ADRs are considered, but at least it is slightly more reasonable than our neighbours over the boarder in SA. I think Commissioner Hyde needs to better allocate his resources instead of taking the easy and cliche option that cameras save lives - what a farce.

I'm so glad I don't reside in South Australia as the Police Minister down there couldn't give a bugger about the very people who put him into office.

Anyone with a half a brain knows that speedometer calibrations are never precise AND he's been advised by HIS ADVISOR that this new practice of lower margins would be in effect stealing money from South Australian citizens.

How on earth do these fools ever win parliamentary seats !! Do us all a favour and vote the current govt out of office in the next election.
