Ford ought to build this car really well. The Commodore has as much glitches as glamour, so I hope they can capitalise on that. The FG looks really nice, but the XR versions look a lot like the BFs they replaced. The rear quarterpanel also shows a lot of resemblance to the current Honda Civic, and some say the doors have a lot of VE on them.

It all boils down on outright performance, quality and long-term reliability. The local patrons will certainly rush to dealerships for the new car, at least until the engines are replaced by US-sourced ones. If I were to buy one, I'd wait for the motor upgrade as I can't see how the Barra powerplants can be better than the 3.5 Toyota has to offer, despite slight revisions to improve power and economy.

It's a make-or-break thing for Ford now.

to all those trying to use the V8 supercar results as some kind of method to evaluate the cars, ever since the control rules came in, it no longer matters, cars are now running control suspension systems etc, identical between both makes mean it is now up to drivers and Team efforts, not to do with the manufacturer any more, hence Holden no longer dominate the series, Ford now have a chance..... Take the control rules away and Ford will struggle again as their R & D department is much smaller the Holden's and HRT's
