2015 Citroen C4 pricing and specifications

The updated, simplified 2015 Citroen C4 range has arrived in Australia ahead of hitting showrooms this month, and it’s being targeted at the upper end of the hatchback market.

As we’ve previously reported, the 2015 Citroen C4 model line-up consists of just two variants – the entry-level Seduction, which is priced at $29,990 plus on-road costs, and the high-spec Exclusive, which is $33,990 plus on-road costs.

According to the brand, the Seduction model – which was priced at $24,990 previously – has new equipment to the tune of $5500 of value. Exclusive models are said to boast an additional $5000 in features for a $1500 increase in price.

Both versions are powered by the same new turbocharged 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine familiar from the Peugeot 308, which marks a push from Peugeot-Citroen to make three-pot engines more mainstream in the model ranges of both brands.

It produces 96kW at 5500rpm and 230Nm from 1750-3000rpm, up substantially from the 88kW/160Nm naturally aspirated 1.6-litre previously found in the C4.

The old four-speed automatic makes way for a new six-speed unit, which Citroen claims changes gears 40 per cent faster, functions more smoothly and helps to reduce fuel consumption by 2.1 litres per 100 kilometres over the previous model (new claim: 4.9L/100km for the Seduction, 5.1L/100km for the Exclusive).

Acceleration from 0-100km/h is listed at a leisurely 11.4 seconds, which is claimed to be 1.1sec faster than the old 1.6-litre four-speed model.

Citroen is aiming to get buyers in the door with a new six-year servicing program, which covers that period of time or up to 90,000km, whichever comes first (intervals are 12 months or 15,000km). There's a free-servicing promotion that runs until 30 September, 2015. Citroen also runs a six-year, unlimited kilometre warranty.

Options available for the new C4 range include metallic paint at $800 and pearlescent paint at $1000. Exclusive models can also be specified with optional full leather, including front seats with heating and massage functions, for an extra $2500.
