Suzuki is offering customers the choice of more style and value – or increased safety – with the addition of two limited edition versions of the award-winning Swift.

First up in the Junior World Rally Championship inspired Swift RE4 which comes with an additional $5500 of extra features.

Included in the Swift RE4 pack are new alloy wheels, keyless start, fog lamps, climate control air-conditioning, sports seats with Alcantara upholstery, side mirror indicators and rear spoiler.

“The Swift has truly been one of the great automotive success stories in recent years, with its mix of European styling, outstanding driving dynamics and fantastic value for money,” said Suzuki Australia General Manager Tony Devers.

“In spite of a host of new competitors from around the globe, the Swift has cemented itself as one of the benchmark small cars in Australia and is one of the best selling cars in the market.

“The release of the limited edition RE4 adds even more to Australia’s best value small car with a rally inspired recommended retail price of just $18,290. A limited number of Swift RE4 cars will go on sale. With $5500 of extras, it represents the best value RE limited edition we have produced.

“Given the sales performance of previous RE versions, customers wanting to take advantage of this outstanding value package are advised to get in early.”

The second pack on offers is Suzuki’s  Swift Safety Pack which options six airbags – including head protecting side curtain airbags – to the award winning Swift entry level model.

“Vehicle safety is increasingly becoming an important factor in the purchase decisions of customers and the addition of the Swift Safety Pack answers those concerns,” said Mr Devers. “For just $700 extra, customers can have the added peace of mind that comes with six airbags.”

Both limited versions go on sale August 1.

the RE4, will actually be called the EXTREME, at least in QLD, it will be fantastic value for money imo, as it also feels much more classy with the sports alcantara seats, sports steering wheel and proper digital climate control!
    GOOD VALUE!

    Hi OSU811,

Yes mate you’re correct – that’s because Suzuki has a separate importer in QLD as compared to the rest of Australia.

    Matt.

“a rally inspired recommended retail price of just $18,290″

Exactlly WHAT makes a price rally-inspired????????

  4. Tom says:

Toyota take note, this is how you do a limited edition that people are actually interested in. Good value.

  5. Simon says:

I’d love to see Suzuki put a turbo diesel in it’s swift line-up. Priced right, it would sell in droves. Perhaps it could be used in the AWD configuration too.

  6. The Salesman says:

What no floor mats!!!!! That’s it, i will buy the Yaris Edge instead.
I don’t think Suzuki could have ever hoped for more success with the Swift. Just goes to show you don’t have to have the strongest price point own a market.

  7. Baddass says:

Still a sexy little car, just better value.

  8. Toxic_Horse says:

    lol salesman
Suzuki should also make a special sport, GTi ?

  9. Yanzo says:

sounds great but i want more grunt so i’m gonna get me a swift sport

  10. Reckless1 says:

Don’t know why the just don’t make the esp and curtains standard, instead of offering it as an option. Here in VIC the ESP will have to be on the car byt the end of 2010 anyway.

These are nice little cars, especially the S model. Not too sure about paying extra for the “Rally” one when it doesn’t have more performance and doesn’t have more safety.

The Sport is too pricey for me at $10,000 more than the base car, and it’s only a 1.6l with a 92kw and 148 torques, hardly a sports experience. Should be max $5000 dearer, then it would be a great little steer. Add a turbo and brakes and then $26,000 would be good value, but would need better than 195/50-16s..

  11. Shak says:

Reckless1 you’ve been watching too much Top gear, its torque not torques. And the ESP thing is the same for the rest of the eastern states, or thats what ive heard.

  12. Baddass says:

Yanzo, a performance chip on this model would deliver the same if not better performance than the Swift Sport, and it would be thousands cheaper.

  13. Martin says:

Crouchy, took the words out of my mouth.

  14. billy_bob_119 says:

There has not been any mention of ESP on this model with the extra $700. If they did offer ESP and Six Airbags it would cost more than $700 for the safty pack.

I would like to see the swift gain ESP just becasue it would make it easy to sell after 2012 when its manatory to have in Australia.

Also does anyone know about the swifts in maintance? Like is it a reliable car and is it a robust car? or will parts break off like a Hyundai Gets???

    Thanks for reading.

  15. Carz says:

I’ve seen one already and I can actually say it looks really great. One of Suzuki’s best.

  16. Toxic_Horse says:

I don’t know why they don’t put the 118Kw 2 Ltr from the SX4 in the swift

  17. suzigal says:

just drove the auto base model this morning, one of our company hire cars. fantastic ride, corners well and has plenty of grunt for a 1.6l auto.

the ride is smooth and comfortable for a small car and all the controls in a very convenient place for easy reach.

i will definately consider one of these for my next upgrade. good on you suzuki, another quality built car.
