    Will it cost more?

  2. Baddass says:

    That Adventure badge looks sweet!

  3. The Original Tom says:

So basically they are saving you the trouble of haggling, because all that stuff should be thrown in anyway if they want your business.

    That works for me.

  4. davie says:

Does it cost more than a forester? Because most of that stuff is standard on the Subey…

  5. Alex says:

When are they going to give the X-Trail some decent wheels?

  6. Andrew says:

More badging? On the back doesn’t it all ready have:

    Nissan
    X-trail
    All-mode 4×4
    Sports

And now “adventure”. Maybe that was the earlier model. But I’ve never understood why primarily Japanese cars need to have so much badging. BMW, Merc etc always have that understated look to them. The Japanese need to tell you how many cylinders, valves and camshafts it has. Is it turbo, how big is the engine? Maybe I’m being a little unfair it’s nowhere near as bad as the 80s and 90s. Although I saw a new Patrol the other day and a sticker on the side said “common rail turbo diesel”, I mean who cares?

X-Trail sales have underperformed since this model shape was released so I suppose they have to do something to draw in buyers.

Problem for the x-trail is that while the competitors have a nice shape and appeal to the greater community/families etc the Ruuged X-Trail image and boxy shape limits its appeal and customers are staying away.

I’m an Xtrail (T31) owner and love its external look and its perfomance. However, I’m very disappointed it has no audio control on steering wheel(petrol models), and its poor headlight. I think they should throw in the foglights (but this can be optioned) for the ‘adventure edition’ as well, like Subaru’s done with the Forester special edition. I think it’s a better car than the Forester in almost every aspects anyway, just hope it will be the same price as the standard ST model.

  9. Captain Mainwaring says:

Wow, that will really make me want to rush out and buy a car that looks like the container it was shipped in.

‘Wow, that will really make me want to rush out and buy a car that looks like the container it was shipped in.’

Yeah mate, the container that won Australian Car of the year, Drive Car of the Year, recently UK’s SUV of the year :)

  11. beamer says:

I was at the Nissan dealership on tuesday and i was shown a memo and im pretty sure the Adventure Edition is approx 36k for manual and 38k for CVT. Not sure if these were drive away prices of not.

  12. Baddass says:

Andrew, you think that number of badges is bad, check out the tailgate of the current model Kluger: seven badges!

  13. maximark says:

    Andrew,

    My Xtrail only has two badges on the tailgate;

    X-Trail
    Ti

Three if you count Nissan logo as a badge, every car has their brand logo i thought.

The one you mentioned that have those badges are the old model T30 :)

Agreed with Baddass, Kluger just have too many bagdes, my brothers have them, both old and current model.

    looks boring, nthn special

  15. Tomas79 says:

I don’t understand the tv advert, something along the lines of “In a world where other manufacturers went into Soft-roaders, the nissan x-trail didn’t”. WTF??? Are they trying to tell us the x-trail isn’t a soft roader?

  16. TomR says:

Bahahahaha what idiots? Stupid advertisement!!! To be honest, the X-trail is the most capable of the soft roaders, but its still a soft roader!!! I still dont like Sports Useless Vehicles though. Id rather buy an I30CW and a twenty year old Nissan Patrol Diesel. Cheaper overall and far more versatile… Just need another space in the garage.

  17. BS Blaster says:

Sotf roader = half pie 4wd.

  18. Ian says:

Like the overall design, the wheels are ugly. A shame, as the vehicle itself is one of the best in its class.

  19. Tomas79 says:

TomR and BS Blaster, so true!!
Funny thing is the advert also ends with the line “X-trail, not for Pretenders!” Hmmm…. How Ironic…

As for being most capable soft-roader, i don’t know about that… I reckon freelander 2 is probably the best off-road capable soft-roader. Also for similar money, you can the suzuki grand vitara, which is not a soft-roader but a light duty 4wd!!

Anyway, I personaly wouldn’t compromise, and for the same money get myself a wrangler swb….

Or as TomR said, a small econo hatch/wagon and an old tough 4×4!!

  20. Carz says:

Adventure may sound nice but I’d still choose the previous Xtrail. I don’t like the look of this new model.

  21. Gabriel says:

The petrol X-trail is a better bet than the new diesel version. I own a diesel X-Trail and it has an oil leak which continuously contaminates the EGR valve and air filter, affecting performance. Nissan has been trying to fix the problem for 8 months, but no permanent solution on the horizon.

The Diesel X-trail is a lemon.
