My dad had the chance to a buy a phase 3 in the late 70' early 80's, but decided to buy a 1973 chrysler by chrysler with a 360 in it instead. Also his friend owned a genuine xy gt with a phase 3 engine in it, in which he later wrote off. By having a head on with a statesman

Thanks George for writing something on the HUGE prices Aussie muscle cars are now bringing.

I am very suprised though at the start price for the "Walky" but maybe not if you have only got your stats from Aussie Muscle Cars Site. As previously mentioned they did have a min Ks one for $150,000 .Did it sell?

Unique Cars list an average price once a year based on what and how many they have listed, bare in mind most cars don't make it magazines now, sold through a mouth and 6 friends advertising.

With XA GT Coupes going for a min of $70,000 now RPO's for $100,000 ,I wouldn't have thought the "Walky" would match it. After all the XA GT Coupe has much more pedigee when it comes to racing .Dont you think?

But as you say all based on whats advertised on their site at Muscle Cars.

Makes things hard for those wanting to sell cars and not knowing the true value of it though ,values vary so much ,auction is a more true guide .

I wrote up the list, most prices are from the 'Sold' section of AustralianMuscleCarSales.com.au and all the prices do end with '+' because I do realise there are most likely cars out there which will exceed that price range.

As for the Walky's I know from personal experience how much they are now selling for.

Remember this isn't the definitive Top 5, like I said they aren't even numbered. It's just a short list of some great Aussie made cars which are highly sought-after.

I too want to know, who's list this is ?

The A9X is under valued ! Doubt you could buy one for less than 50,000 !

The Walking stick Commodore .I know there was one listed for $150,000 with almost nil ks on it in Aussie Muscle Cars. Also think you could get one cheaper than $70,000! Over rated !

I prefer the VH & VK Group A . Cant believe the VL is worth more than those.

Oh from memory of a previous GT news letter I have read there is 93 HOs left.

Not sure how many normal XY GTs left but there starting at $100.00 +

My older brother had the opportunity to purchase a GT XY. Our mother talked him out of it with the argument that petrol was too expensive, 23¢ a litre.

Both of us regret it. Not for the money and value of the car, but the nostalgia and owning a piece of history.
