The first-ever BMW M Performance drop-top model has arrived in Australia in the form of the all-new BMW M235i Convertible.
There’s a long list of standard equipment (see below) but some of the highlights include a reverse-view camera, front and rear parking sensors, 18-inch alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights, heated front seats, leather trim, M Sports steering wheel, an upgraded HiFi stereo system and BMW‘s big-screen Professional satellite navigation system.
Power comes from a 3.0-litre straight six-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 240kW of power and 450Nm of torque, which is teamed to a standard eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddleshifters. The M235i Convertible is rear-wheel drive, and a sprint from 0-100km/h takes just 5.0 seconds according to BMW’s claim.
Sporty extras include adaptive M suspension, M Sport brakes (four-piston aluminium fixed caliper front and two-piston rear) and BMW’s variable sport steering.
As is the case with rest of the 2 Series Convertible range, the M235i’s electric soft top can be operated at speeds up to 50km/h.
The 2 Series Convertible range also has a range-wide application of BMW’s Condition Based Service (CBS) program. This monitors the condition of a vehicle based on its actual use to ensure that it is serviced when it needs to be. It monitors mileage, time since the last service, fuel use and the way the car is being driven. The data is sent to the owner’s preferred authorised BMW workshop.
The all-new BMW M235i Convertible is now available in BMW dealerships nationally.
