Nissan EV – there’s an App for that!

As we announced yesterday Nissan will be launching a trio of electric vehicles on August 2, but in addition to this, the manufacturer will also offer Apple iPhone customers an application that allows them to monitor their car's battery level.

The application, which is designed to be used while owners are away from their vehicle, shows how much charge is left in their car's battery, how much time is required to fully recharge the battery, where the nearest public charge station is and the approximate costs of a recharge.

The program also allows owners to interact with various car functions, such as air conditioning and heating, to allow the car to be made more comfortable upon their return.

Although the system is still in prototype phase it too will be unveiled with the cars on Sunday at Nissan's new world headquarters in Yokohama, Japan.
