I am thinking of buying a 2007 Territory SY SR RWD but have been given some mixed reviews. Can anyone give me some advice? What's the fuel usage like? Have there been problems with the engine's?

It was an option on all Territory Ghias and I think TS's from 2004 to 2010. I don't know whether it would be a very good system though as it is pretty old. A TomTom would be much better for $150.

for the fuel consumption it depends on how u drive it they tested it for the average person but i think tht it should be 2 liters more than wht they put down..

I have a 2006 RWD Ghia. Any one out there tell me the servicing costs they're experiencing? By the way, I'm very happy overall with few dramas; used 95% business and carting a heap of product samples long distances. Cheers

Tilly Thompson
I am also very keen on a new Territory Turbo next year (base model). I want to trade my 10year old Jackaroo. After my VE SS Commodore,(which I will keep) I want a 4WD that drives more like a car. I will also use it for work, which involves construction sites, mainly roadworks jobs. I have a concern about the reduced ground clearance. You use yours for camping - is it OK on gravel tracks etc, if driven carefully, or does it hit bottom and do any damage?
Also, is the ride on rougher bitumen roads fairly comfortable?

Well, waited years for one of these. Don't ever want another one. Problems of smokey engine started after approx 600 -800 K's (After other issues) Brand new car, June 2008 SR . Now done 6,500 K's on second motor,( looking at a third motor ). Problem still not fixed. Waiting for someone to report my car to the EPA. I can not understand why Ford finds it so hard to replace my car, save their reputation and customer relationships, find the problem and correct the next model.
Then there is the really noisy petrol pump, standard I am told and the petrol consumption (GASP)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone had a "smokey engine"- (Rev car after idling on slight incline eg about 8-12 degrees or so ) Please try it, mine can not be the only one!

iam the happy owner of a SY feb 2007 Territory turbo ghia, my friends who have travelled with me are impressed by its agility and power for a large vehicle, admittedly it likes a drink but if one does ones homework and checks all the specs one is prepared to pay for the fuel. iam looking forward to the update which i read about in fridays paper, hopefully it will have all the good features of the new Falcon G6ET including an upgrade in power and torque to 270kw and 550Nm and maybe using slightly less fuel. I have used my Terri for just about anything from camping to moving furniture and saving money on deiveries, the last one transporting my new 52" lcd tv. i hope to update before we loose the famous Aussie i6, before the yankie v6 gets placed in the Falcons and Territories. its pleasing there could be a diesel option for those who want it and iam looking forward to an updated interior with the smarter HMI display and digital speedo for easier setting of the cruise control. Also good news that it looks like Territory should be around for at least another 5 years and i love the 6 speed auto, so easy to select through the gears without a jagged J gate configuration as i've juggled with in some rental cars. i've also read the Territory is just as good to drive as the BMW X5 but at hald the purchase price...go Aussie Territory !! :)
