SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo unveiled with 1931kW drivetrain

Fiat Chrysler has unveiled a concept car range, the SRT Tomahawk Vision Gran Turismo, for the popular PlayStation racing simulator, Gran Turismo 6.

According to the company, the company designers set out to design "the sportscar of 2035". As such, it not only features dramatic styling, but has a cockpit and engine cover made from graphene.

To complement the five exhaust tips protruding from the rear of the car, the Tomahawk is powered by hybrid drivetrain that combines a 7.0-litre V10 engine with a pneumatic, or compressed air, motor.

The car's pneumatic system not only drives the front wheels, but is also integrated into the suspension setup, pressurises the G-suit worn by the driver in the top-spec model, and activates the various aero panels that have been placed all over the Tomahawk's body.

In the base Tomahawk S, the hybrid setup has a total of 751kW of power. This is thanks to a 591kW version of the 7.0-litre V10 and a 160kW compressed air motor. Tipping the scales at 919kg, the Tomahawk S is claimed to have a top speed of over 400km/h.

Next up is the SRT Tomahawk GTR-S, which features a 848kW V10 mated to a 233kW pneumatic motor for a total system output of 1081kW. With weight shaved to just 662kg, this version of the Tomahawk is said to have a top speed of over 480km/h.

Last, but definitely not least, is the Tomahawk X. With the X standing for experimental, this model is fitted with a V10 engine redlined at 14,500rpm. The 7.0-litre V10 generates 1617kW on its lonesome. Combined with a 315kW compressed air unit, the Tomahawk X has a barely believable 1931kW at its disposal.

Top speed for the Tomahawk X is listed at 650km/h and its performance is so extreme that the driver is required to wear the aforementioned G-suit.

As with other Vision Gran Turismo vehicles, the SRT Tomahawk, in all its variations, will be available as free in-game download.
