Chevrolet Camaro ‘Transformers Edition’

July 23, 2009 by Matt Brogan

General Motors have launched a ‘Transformers Edition’ of its 2010 Chevrolet Camaro this week for fans wanting to make their car look like the movie’s namesake Bumblebee.

The package, which costs an additional US$995, sees yellow only Camaros fitted with black rally stripes on the bonnet, Autobot shields (Autobots are the good guys in the movie) on the front quarter panels and centre caps of the wheels as well as an embroided shield on the centre console.

“When the first Transformers movie was setting box-office records, we had countless customers asking to purchase the ‘Bumblebee’ Camaro,” said Karen Rafferty, Chevrolet product marketing director.

The basic Camaro specs remain. The Transformers logo also appears on the sill plates and hood stripes.

Looks alright but I don’t think it’ll have the noise from the one in the movie :(. Also, it looks a tad Chinese as Chevrolet China did the same Transformers treatment on their whole range! Weird I know…

Can we have the Saab 9-5 official pics please? Some real news!

And how successful will it bee? (Play on words, not bad for this time of morning before my coffee) How many Delorians did they sell? Or Kit cars? OK its only an extra $990.00. But I can’t see to many Transformer fans being able to even afford the Camero in the first place. Maybe if they just sold the Transformer kit so they can fit it to their Hyundai Excel’s and Suzuki Swifts. Hello Lady’s

The Camaro is a joke without a power train relevant to our times. It is effectively markets to those who suffer anxiety through being less advanced.

Typical American muscle car look and styling from the 70-80s.
Very aggressive and tough styling. If they can make it look like a corvette with sharper lines, it would look even better and less outdated.

Maybe a sleek and curvy Yellow corvette would nicer.

Unless you dont have a pulse, you gota love these!

American reborn muscle-cars really are a wonderful looking and performing vehicle, value too, its a pity RHD is not in the program, but then they would be $80k+ and wont sell all that many at that price.

Reason to live in USA if your a petrol-head!

      Cheers,

      F-0

$995 for some decals? Are they for real….? Bit of contact from the local news agent and you’d be right…for about about $20…

Nice looking machine but the association with a fictional movie about cars that change into robots is just childish.

IMO, yellow cars are for the colourblind purchaser. Is this a copy of the original prototype roughed out from a block of cheese due to GM’s financial constraints ?

    15. all i can say is..i bought the yellow bumble bee and it is the hottest car on the road..i am lovin it..and so is everyone i meet in parkin lots…they r all over it…so if you don’t like it..don’t buy one and get off this website….i love my bumblebee
