Ford Transit recalled for faulty fuel injectors

Ford has recalled 138 Ford Transit and Ford Transit Custom vans in Australia over potential fuel injector faults.

Some injectors may have a defective valve which, if it fails, could result in a loss of fuel pressure causing the engine to stall.

The recall affects vans fitted with the 114kW/385Nm 2.2-litre Duratorq diesel engine.

Ford service personnel can inspect the serial numbers on each injector and will replace any flagged as faulty.

All owners have been notified and at the time of writing, only one Australian customer has reported the issue.

So far this year, Ford has sold 299 of the mid-size Transit Custom vans and 276 of its larger Transit Heavy sibling.
