Interesting! It may be greener but it’s too expensive. It’s nice though…many car enthusiasts, not to mention eco conscious, would probably buy and like this cute Peugeot car.

Do not buy a 308. When buying my RS I nearly did, and I haven’t regretted not choosing it. Put simply, there’s a three month order on the thing and it’s the most overpriced car ever (I was looking at an XSE HDi manual with a panoramic roof and 17″ alloys and it was $40k on road – WAY too expensive for a medium-sized hatchback). If you want to put golfclubs in a car, buy a bigger one (an Octavia, a Jetta, a Mazda6, an Accord Euro etc)!

The 207 Touring is a good car (as long as it’s diesel) I just didn’t like it because there was no rear legroom. That was the only problem lol. But at 5″ 10 I don’t think it’s a prob for you. Good car nonetheless.

Mat Packer, I have a 207 Touring and the Golf clubs and buggy fit in just fine. It is also beautiful to drive. I live 365km from Melbourne CBD and on both City and Country roads I have found it to be one of the most comfortable cars that I have been in. I am only 5′10 though.

We’re actually on the look out for a new car at the moment and I’ve already got a Pug 308 which drives gorgeously, and on the smell of an oily diesel rag. Sadly I don’t think I could get my golf clubs and golf buggy in the back of this.

A DIEsel is already stupidly overpriced over a similar very FRUGAL petrol equiped of the same model, you really have to question if its worth buying it, NOT to save money thats for sure.

These *eco* models are more expensive again, just does not add up when you do the numbers.

Still, they are much more normal and better value than the stupid overpriced hybrid jobs, gee they have stooged a lot of people!

Seat Ibiza eco is good price v economy equation!

This car is so friggin expensive! How the hell does Peugeot keep selling the 207, especially considering a proper model (with proper specs and an engine that actually moves – the XT) is 27k PLUS on-roads and knowing Peugeot that\’ll be around 5-6k.

I really like all these new small freakishly efficient cars (Ford Fiesta EcoNetic, VW Polo Bluemotion, Skoda Fabia Greenline, Seat Ibiza Green something, Hyundai i10/i20/i30 Blue, Volvo C30 DrivE and the Audi A3 1.9TDIe) as they show that it\’s possible to beat the stupid Prius in the economy stakes, while being a hell of alot cheaper! And because they\’re turbo diesels they actually have torque!

I reckon these would be well-received here. They\’d be perfect as second-cars just to take to work or as fleet cars!

Between this and the Fiesta “Eco” model there’s a steady line of greener cars starting to appear that are significantly cheaper than the Prius. They also look more “normal”. Diesel seems to be the way to go if you’re into that kind of thing.

Just my 2c.
