I've just bought an Alto and am very pleased with it. I trael 140 kms a day mostly on 110 km roads with the last part on 90, then 80, 70 and latly 60 km roads. Its easy to drive, I accelerate from the lights quicker than most and I can park it easily. I also drive a Jeep and whilst the comfort in the Alto is less, so is the fuel consumption. I love it so don't knock what you haven't tried

I am from South Africa, and I bought myself a 2011 Alto 1.0 GLS about a week ago, I sold my 1400 Nissan Bakkie (pick-up truck) to buy the Alto. Up to now I did about 350km, and am very pleased with nearly everything, I tested the max speed on it with 2 adults in it today, according to my navigator we did 157km/h, and you don't feel it, from a full tank of fuel I did about 140km when the the second line on the fuel gadge started to dissapear. I saw in the report that it comes with an aux jack, if so, where is it situated, because according to the dealer it doesn't have aux. Secondly hight adjustable driver seat, that I'll have to check in the morning. I also haven't noticed about the immobilizer, are all these standard with the GLS, if so and if mine don't have if where can I take it on for proof that it is standard so that I can take it up with the dealer? Otherwise I give the Alto a person 9/10.

I know these posts are all around the release date in 2009, but how things change. I've just brought a 2011 GL for $11,990 drive away, now with ESP as standard. I drive 100km each day to work and back through highway and traffic. What a great little car, cheap economical and comparatively safe and green motoring. I'm saving a fortune. Well done Suzuki!

I bought an Alto GLX in January. Great fun little machine that gives me 2 1/2 weeks of travel for 42 bucks.

Did a road trip to the coast. No problem cruising at 110+kmh. Just be quick with the stick on a hill!
