The 2016 Toyota HiLux is set to be internationally unveiled at an event in Thailand on May 21, ahead of an Australian launch late this year.
A video teaser released by Toyota Thailand today reveals several design elements and further detail. Screen shots from the teaser video show LED daytime running lights, high-intensity discharge headlights, fog lights and a roof-mounted aerial.
According to sources within the Thai factory, Toyota has been building the new HiLux since early April and has been preparing customer vehicles for delivery.
Leaked images posted to the HiLux Revo Thailand Facebook fan page last week further revealed the HiLux exterior and its new interior. New images published this week compare the current generation HiLux interior to the 2016 model.
Also revealed last week, the HiLux will forego the familiar 3.0-litre diesel unit and instead run with a 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel, as well as a 2.7-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine, and a 2.4-litre four-cylinder turbocharged diesel.
