Bentley Bentayga interior teased in new video

The interior of the upcoming Bentley Bentayga SUV has been teased in a new video from the British brand.

In the video above and screenshots below, we can see, for the first time, the Bentayga's instrument panel, dashboard, head-up display, start/stop button, terrain selector, gear shift and much of the centre tunnel.

Under the skin, the Bentayga will be based on the latest iteration of Volkswagen Group's MLB component matrix for front- and all-wheel drive vehicles with longitudinal engines.

Currently this component set underpins the latest-generation Audi Q7 crossover.

The luxury brand has confirmed that the Bentayga will launch towards the end of 2015 and then head into showrooms around the world from 2016.

At launch, the Bentayga will be powered by a 12-cylinder engine. Down the track the Bentley SUV will gain a plug-in hybrid variant.

At the beginning of the year, Bentley confirmed that its first ever crossover vehicle would be christened Bentayga, after one of the large rock formations on the island of Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands.

In the last week, Bentley executives refused to rule out a smaller crossover — possibly a BMW X6 "coupe"-style device — that would sit underneath the Bentayga.

Check out our most recent spy photos, taken at the beginning of March, to see what the Bentayga looks like almost camouflage-free.
